A bit more about me,
Greetings from Virginia. My wife and I both enjoy crafting. We often make gifts for friends and family. I also love words, the turn of a phrase, encouraging words, and fun sayings stick with me for a long time. I've seen the power of both negative and positive words. I want mine to be uplifting, and I want to help others be an encouragement to those around them.
A few encouraging words can brighten someone’s day, or even change the course of someone’s life. I've had both experiences.
DESIGN
I've always liked design. I studied graphic arts and communication. In this shop I'm combining these interests, starting with digital downloads. I keep designs simple. I choose words that speak for themselves and then work on a minimal design to convey it. Even with this in mind, I try to pay attention to tiny details you might only notice later, such as the Ferris wheel representing the "o" in "impossible" in the Walt Disney quote (see design details for insights into the thought behind each item).
EXTRA VALUE
I know people see things differently and like choices. So, most of my designs have two versions, adding value to your purchase. One could be black and white the other in color, or there may be variations in the design. You choose which is best for you. You'll receive both. If only one design is offered the price will be lower.
WHAT MAKES MY SHOP DIFFERENT?
As a writer, I'm trying hard to make sure the quotes I use are accurate and have been verified in at least two sources. If I've found a quote to be disputed I won't use it, or I'll make a special note about its additional history, such as the "Life is Still Worthwhile" design that is a tribute to Charlie Chaplin but not a direct quote.
I appreciate the time you took to read about my shop and process. Regardless of whether you purchase anything or not, I hope you "Get Uplifted."
HANG IT UP! IDEAS TO DISPLAY YOUR NEW DOWNLOADS
OF COURSE, YOU CAN GO THE TRADITIONAL ROUTE AND FRAME, BUT HERE ARE A FEW MORE IDEAS...
ADHESIVE POSTER PUTTY
If you don't want to make any holes in your walls you may want to try adhesive poster putty.
ADHESIVE WALL HANGERS
Several types of light to medium weight hangers are available that will hang framed or unframed art without damaging walls.
CORD AND CLOTHESPINS
To make only two holes and hang several items, a modern look that may suit you is to string a length of cord, and use clothespins to hand your new artwork downloads
THUMBTACKS AND BULLDOG CLIPS
A similar idea is to use thumbtacks and a bulldog clip to hang your pieces. You can use small squares of colored cardboard under each clip if you're concerned about the clip pressing too tightly and damaging your art.
CORKBOARD PANELS OR STRIPS
Corkboard is available at office and craft stores in strips squares and many other sizes. Try using them to tack and rearrange pieces whenever you want.
